Oil-free screw compressors
Where contaminated compressed air can result in expensive product spoilage, you can be rest assured that a CompAir oil-free compressor will eliminate oil-carryover in the compressed air. In addition, the removal of oil from the compression process enables compressed air users to operate with maximum environmental efficiency.
Industries, both large and small, rely on CompAir for a supply of consistent high quality compressed air including automotive, aviation, petro-chemical, power generation, shipping and utilities. Non-contact, non wearing labyrinth seals prevent bearing lubricant entering the compression chamber. Thrust balance pistons equalise the loads across the heavy duty. low friction ball and roller bearing, allowing each bearing to achieve its optimum life expectancy.


Market leading efficiency
The CompAir compression element design sets the industry standard for energy efficiency. The rotor casing feature generously sized liquid cooling passages for even heat dissipation, enabling closer tolerances to be used for high compression efficiency.


Extended service life
The CompAir D series features an electric motor driven oil pump that delivers full lubricant pressure prior to starting thereby extending the operational life of the compression element and its bearings.
Two stage inlet filtration protects against the ingress of airborne particles into the compression element.


Compact design
The fully silenced, free standing CompAir D series compressor package includes drive motor, coolers, inlet filtration and silencing system, integrated compressor controls and all service connections.


Simplified maintenance
Servicing costs and downtime are kept to a minimum with; a grouped service area, simplified access for cooler cleaning, hinged service doors all round and an 8000 hour service interval.


CompAir control system
CompAir's microprocessor-based compressor management system simplifies operation and allows instant review of status. Comprehensive control, condition monitoring, protection and remote control facilities are built into the system.
As demand for compressed air can vary, CompAir D series compressors are fitted with a regulation system that efficiently matches output to demand. Discharge pressure is monitored via a pressure transducer and the compressor automatically loads and unloads, minimising energy consumption.

With the requirement for high quality oil-free air no longer the sole preserve of the pharmaceutical, medical, food and electronics industries, engineers have been searching for a system which will supply air to increasingly stringent international purity standards without the drawbacks associated with today’s oil-free compressors.

Now CompAir has the answer
CompAir WS water sealed oil-free screw compressors have none of the inherent disadvantages on conventional oil-free plant. No expensive inter-cooling or after cooling equipment is required.

Simplicity of design and construction means there are less moving parts. The use of advanced materials provides spectacular output gains and means there is no oil anywhere in the system while the condensate - pure water - can be piped directly into the mains drainage system.

More Energy Efficient
CompAir WS compressors provide an output improvement of up to 15% over the move traditional piston, hook compression and oil-injected rotary screw plant. The key to this improvement lies in the revolutionary cooling and lubricating system.

At the heart of the compressor are two rotors made from a high quality ceramic material which is impervious to corrosion or wear. The use of this almost indestructible material means that water is used in place of oil in the compressor. The rotors operate within a rugged stator casing and water - the most natural of substances - is piped through the housing to cool and lubricate the rotors.

The heat produced during compression is dissipated almost immediately by the water passing along the rotors. This enables the compressors to operate at a very low temperature and means that less power is required to compress the air.

Energy efficiency is also improved via the water sealing process. Not only is water cleaner and cheaper than oil, but it has lower viscosity. The rotors meet less resistance than in oil-injected compressors and the power consumption on the CompAir WS compressor is reduced yet further.


Highly reliable and Ultra Quite
The effectiveness of the CompAir WS water cooling and lubrication system means that no internal gears, filters, inter-cooling or after-cooling equipment are necessary to provide a consistent supply of cool clean-room standard air.

This makes the WS one of the most reliable and quiet oil-free compressors on the market today. Normal conversation is possible in the plant room and expensive external sound proofing measures are unnecessary. The compressor itself makes ess noise than the electronic motor which powers it.


Minimal Maintenance
The very simple single stage screw design of the CompAir WS range means it has less moving parts and ancillary items than any other comparable compressor. This results in longer component life, less compressor down-time and reduced maintenance costs. The ceramic rotors themselves are completely maintenance free.

Plant room safety is also improved. The almost instantaneous heat dissipation means that the compressor casing is cool to the touch, even at full load.


Environmental Benefits

Not only is the possibility of oil contamination of the compressed air avoided, but there is no longer the problem of waste oil disposal. The condensate - pure water - can be piped direct from the compressor into the mains drainage system.

CompAir WS water sealed oil-free screw compressors are available in ten models with power options form 4 kW to 45 kW. Capacities range from 0.40 m3/min to 7.30m3/min operating at nominal pressures of 7 bar and 10 bar.
